HOLIDAY TIME A time to renew friendships, rejoice in The Gift, and remember holidays past. A favorite memory of mine was the Amtrak Christmas Journey from North Dakota to Renton, Washington to be with my sister, Linda (Schultz) Muma and her family. Family members boarded the train in Minneapolis, Fargo, Grand Forks, and Minot. It was midnight when we arrived in Whitefish, Montana where brother, Orv, boarded. He thought we'd all be asleep as he searched each car for us. He finally arrived at the Club Car where a full car greeted him with "Merry Christmas". I was playing Christmas Carols on the electric piano and a student from University of Illinois was playing her cello as the group sang one carol after another. On the Twelve Days of Christmas we had people from Tennessee singing "two turtle doves..." and some from Missouri singing "five golden rings..." with Minnesota people singing "eight maids a milking..." My brother thought this was his best Christmas ever to hear his family singing together, something we did often when we gathered together to celebrate. May your holidays be filled with songs, good health and contentment.
